Pukenui School is a decile 3 school with a roll of around 97 students.  Currently, we operate five composite classrooms: Year 0-2 in Room 2, Year 2-3 in Room 3, Year 4-5 in Room 1, Year 6 in Room 4, and Year 7-8 in Room 5.  We are also fortunate to have 5 very amazing teaching assistants, which allows students to receive individual attention as required.  Te Reo Māori and developing a localised curriculum is our overall school focus, with an emphasis based on our School Values: Whanaungatanga, Manaakitanga, Kaitiakitanga and Ako.

We have a large swimming pool, tennis courts, playing fields, an adventure playground, a junior sandpit, and a native tree plantation.
